Dear friends of Baraná,

With intense sorrow I have to say that Behsat Uvez passed away Friday afternoon (22nd of February). He battled like a knight against his cancer, without ever losing his hope, even when the doctors said it was a lost battle. In this he was quite incredible, and the doctors said they had never seen a patient like him before.

His soulfulness and his pure enthusiasm, about life, people and music was a big source of inspiration for me, and will stay that forever. One can hardly overestimate the influence he has had on me, and I think back of the beautiful years we had together since 2002. The mere thought that he is not just coming back to play with us is unbearable. Behsat, rest in peace.
